European TrainerGuide

Six countries; Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Turkey, Finland and Slovenia were participants in the project Trainer Guide. They've shared the quest for and commitment to developing a European TrainerGuide, which can contribute to improving quality in practical VET training. They have delivered a European TrainerGuide, which works as a 'generic model'.

Qualified training companies

For apprentices and full time students in secondary vocational education in the Netherlands it is mandatory to have a substantial amount of practical training ‘on the job’ during their training.  

So far nothing new, but in NL this on the job training may only be provided by companies that have received a previous accreditation from the National Centre of Expertise (eg. Aequor). This accreditation is a guarantee for the quality of a number of social and educational conditions within the company.  These accredited companies can be found in the public Register that is published on the internet by Aequor and the other sectoral Centers of Expertise.

Since VET is internationalizing and students are encouraged to have a foreign practical learning period we need foreign companies with a certain quality.

For that reason we are preparing partnerships with national authorities abroad that monitors the quality of practical learning and, like in the Netherlands,   is giving out certificates/accreditations. We encourage you to inform us about possible authorities in your country that might be suitable to set up a partnership with Aequor (and maybe other Centers of Expertise) to select adequate companies that could foresee in qualified practical training for Dutch students.

Proposal for modernising the Professional Qualifications Directive

On 19 December 2011, the Commission has adopted a legislative proposal for modernising Directive 2005/36/EC on the recognition of professional qualifications. This modernisation is one of the twelve levers for growth set out in the Single Market Act and aims at further facilitating mobility of professionals across the EU.

WorldSkills Experience and Global Skills Marketplace

 

The WorldSkills Premiere Experience (WSPE) is a not-to-be-missed conference and events programme being held in conjunction with WorldSkills London 2011. Leaders in education, industry, business and government should plan to attend the WSPE being held in London from 4-9 October, 2011. The WSPE is designed to bring leaders together from around the world for a productive and informative programme with the WorldSkills Competition as its centre-piece. Networking, learning and sharing best practices are at the core of the WorldSkills Premiere Experience.

Each of the 3 conference days will focus on a different aspect of skills promotion, policy and practice.

Schoneveld Breeding nominated for Best training Company

Schoneveld Breeding is nominated for the election of the Best Training Company in The Netherlands.
This election is organized by the the Dutch Ministry of Education, Agriculture and Innovation, COLO, the Netherlands Association of VET Colleges and the Chamber of Commerce.
Schoneveld Breeding was established in 1930 and specialises in breeding and growing flowering pot plants, Cyclamen and Primula in particular. It's a modern company with more than 200 employees working at various test and production locations in the Netherlands and abroad.
Schoneveld Breeding was already the winner of the Aequor election for best training company in the agricultural sector in 2001.

eCOTOOL

Aequor particpates in e-COTOOL.
The overall objective of eCOTOOL is to develop a generic and adaptable European skills and competence model with a standardized structure and methodology for competence descriptions as well as to design and implement related web-based tools (eco-tools) for a pilot. These will be used as instruments for the easy harmonized description and integration of skills and competence related information into the Europass Certificate Supplement and other European policies, thereby targeting for harmonization and better interoperability.

Enterprise training partnership in Egypt

In Egypt the process of improving VET continues. In 2010 Aequor was involved in a Twinning project for the development of the Enterprise Training Parnership for Food technology. After the revolution the development will continue. Aequor and ETP-food will discuss the continuation of the partnership on development of distance learning, technology exchange and the development of a mutual training programme.
